Shop Stewards and Point People

The Unit Executive Board is asking for all persons who are interested in being a shop steward to apply at this time. All previously appointed shop stewards are encouraged to apply and recertify. As you may or may not know, shop stewards are appointed only by the Unit’s President. 

Each new Executive Board has the right to appoint/re-appoint, as needed. Stewards will contribute to a pool of knowledge from which contract negotiations and negotiators will be drawn. It is the Executive Board’s intention to have more than one shop steward available for each building in order to aid in communication. The Board is currently working on those assignments and stewards will be assigned on an as needed basis throughout the district. Stewards will be required to represent members of other buildings, and other departments. The ability to see different points of view and the ability to tackle a wide range of issues for ALL members equally, is the core competency of this position.  Unit #9164 Lakeland CSD currently has the following appointed shop stewards in place for members, regardless of your department location.
